PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The Project Manager will lead and manage Technical Advisory assignments and studies delivered by the Advisian Power & New Energy Business. Using your project and team management skills, you will manage interdisciplinary teams of highly qualified consultants and the relationship with our Client to ensure that our Technical Advisory services are delivered to the satisfaction of the Client, on budget, on schedule and as per adequate quality and safety standards.
Adequate communication, coordination, planning and supervision of all project-related activities as well as continuous communication and reporting to the Client in compliance with Worley’s standards and procedures are the main responsibilities of this position.
Leads the project, obtains the highest value of the project team and manages the expectations of the Client, with minimal supervision and general direction of the upper management.
The position will be based in Madrid, with frequent travels to other locations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Management of internal and external interfaces. Establish the grounds for a positive working atmosphere within the project team as well as an honest and constructive working relationship with the Client and with other project stakeholders.
- Ensure adequate communication, planning, coordination and management of all project-related activities.
- Main interface with the Client, including the preparation of formal communications, records and technical/progress reports.
- Ensure effective and well-recorded communications with the Client and with other project stakeholders, from a contract/legal, technical and commercial side, on a day-to-day basis.
- Management of our contract with the Client, ensuring milestones verification, implementation of the required Change Orders, invoicing and payments as per the contract.
- Regular reporting to the upper management on the status of the project.
- The consultancy services are to be delivered on budget, on schedule and as per adequate quality and safety standards.
- Ensure adequate project controls are established.
- Ensure compliance with Worley’s standards and procedures, and that the right systems are in place and applied to the project. Support the development, preparation, implementation and follow-up of various plans (e.g. schedule, quality, health and safety, execution, project and interface management) throughout the project during different stages and with all components.
- Advisory and contract management support for those contracts that the Client has signed with other project stakeholders (e.g. contractors).
- Active management of risk: Risk Registers relevant, in place, current and actively used to manage the project.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Engineering Degree required. MBA and/or Master of Science preferred.
LANGUAGES
- Proficient in English (written and spoken) and Spanish (written and spoken), other languages (Arabic, French, others) skills are a plus.
- Proficient ability to report in English, both verbal & in writing.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Power Plants projects development, engineering and construction and 8 years of engineering and/or project management experience.
- Power & Renewable Energy technologies experience is required.
- Contract Management experience is required.
- Proven experience in the management of multidisciplinary teams is required.
- Technical Advisory experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Project Manager with international experience (multinational companies or across different countries and professional cultures).
- Successful track record of delivering complex power generation projects, with interface of various concurrent sub-projects.
SOFT SKILLS
- Technical / hands-on profile with good communication, management and negotiation skills are key requirements for this role.
- Responsible and honest.
- Good staff-management, interpersonal skills, organizational skills and ability to work independently are essential.
- Good communication skills and an aptitude for taking initiatives are essential, as is the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
